Can I speak at Planning Committee meetings?

Yes. Public speaking at the Council's Planning Committee meetings is now permitted in accordance with the agreed scheme. Details of the scheme can be found here:

Planning application petitions and speaking at Planning Committee

Members of the public are also able to lobby their Ward Councillor who can address the Planning Committee on their behalf - as long as the elected Member does not have a prejudicial interest in the application. You can also submit any written representations by 9.00am on the Monday before the meeting and these will be circulated to all Members.

Outside of Bexhill, in the parished areas of the district, local Town / Parish Planning Committee meetings usually allow public speaking.  Should you have a query regarding your local Town / Parish Planning Committee you should contact the relevant Clerk.
