What is a Section 106 agreement?

How long does it take to obtain a decision for a planning application ?

The Local Planning Authority is required to determine the majority of applications within eight weeks of receipt.

However given the complex nature of some applications and the protracted negotiations which are often necessary to bring proposals into a suitable form, sometimes more than eight weeks may be required. In this regard the Government has set Local Planning Authorities national targets for determining certain categories of planning applications as follows:

BV109a Major Developments 60% in 13 weeks

BV109b Minor Developments 65% in 8 weeks

BV109c Other Developments 80% in 8 weeks
