Rother Citizens PanelThe Council runs a 'citizens panel'. It is a group of local people who are willing to take part in surveys, consultations and discussion groups about Council services and local matters. You are welcome to join our Citizens Panel:Rother Citizens Panel - membership is open to all residents of the Rother district.People join the citizens panel to take part in surveys and discussion groups about their experience of living in Rother. The Council consults them on all sorts of things. They are asked if they think there could be improvements in a particular service. They are consulted on what they think of the Council and how it contributes to living in Rother. The panel membership contribute their say and help create new strategies, inform policy and change services. An application form is attached to this page (see right). A large text version is also attached. Only elected members of the Council (Councillors) cannot be on the panel. Currently Recruiting:People aged 16-40, People from Rural Rother, People from non-White British BackgroundsThere is a shortage of people aged under 40 on the Citizens Panel. It is important that all age groups are represented. We would particularly like to encourage young men join the Panel because they are under-represented. We would like to encourage more members who live in Rother but not in Bexhill, particularly if you live in a village. There is a shortage of people who come from non-white British backgrounds in the Citizens Panel. We would like to encourage people from black and minority ethnic groups to join the Citizens Panel and take part. It is important that people from all the different communities that live in Rother are represented. If you wish to join the Panel, but do not have any of the characteristics of these groups, then you may be put on a waiting list. Young people under 16 are very welcome to join. However, for your protection, please get your parent or guardian to sign the form as well. This will let us know that you have their permission and they will know about you getting surveys or telephone calls from us.
