Council Tax for 2007/8The Council Tax for 2007/2008 was agreed by Full Council on 5th March 2007 The Council set the Band 'D' Council tax for Rother District at £143.47, an increase of 4.81% over last year's figure of £137.15. This means the amount of £2.76 per week, an increase of 13p, is payable for all the services provided by Rother District Council, by people living in a Band 'D' property. This was the lowest Council Tax in East Sussex. East Sussex County Council had earlier set its Band 'D' amount at £1,047.69, (4.3% increase), the Sussex Police Authority had set its Band 'D' amount at £122.67, (5.99% increase) and East Sussex Fire Authority had set its Band 'D' amount at £73.70 (4.9% increase). The total, excluding individual Parish or Town Council amounts is therefore £1,387.80, an overall increase of 4.56%.
