Summer soccer sessions are a hit with kids

Youngsters have been getting active and enjoying the beautiful game with summer football coaching sessions in Bexhill.

More than 85 children aged between five and 16 took part in coaching sessions at parks and recreation grounds around the town throughout the summer holidays.

The sessions were organised by Active Rother - the district council's partnership aimed at encouraging people to get active - and delivered by football coaching specialists Skiltek.

Cllr Jay Brewerton, Rother District Council cabinet member for young people, sport and leisure, said: "The summer football coaching sessions are always popular and this year was no exception.

"It's a great way for boys and girls to get out, get active and make the most of the warm weather and the long days during their summer holidays.

"I'd like to thank everyone who came along, Adrian Gaylon, our sports development officer, for his support at these events and the coaches at Skiltek who did a great job of leading the sessions and fuelling the youngsters' passion for football."

The sessions were held at Egerton Park and The Downs, in Bexhill, Seabourne Road Recreation Ground, in Pebsham, and Sidley Recreation Ground.
