Audit of Accounts 2016/17

Each year the Council's accounts are audited and any interested person may:

  • inspect the accounting records for the financial year to which the audit relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records; and
  • make copies of all or any part of those records or documents.

For the year ended 31 March 2017 these documents will be available by appointment at the Town Hall, Bexhill on Sea, TN39 3JX from 9.00am to 4.30pm on weekdays between 12 June and  24 July inclusive. Please telephone 01424 787000 to make an appointment.

The draft Statement of Accounts is subject to audit, is also available to view or download:

Local Government Electors and their representatives also have:

  • the opportunity to question the auditor about the accounting records, who may be contacted at the London Office (address below) between 12 June  and Friday 24 July inclusive.
  • the right to make objections to the accounts or any items in them during the period 12 June to 24 July. Written notice of an objection must first be given to the auditor and a copy sent to the Council.

The audit is being carried out by Leigh Lloyd-Thomas, BDO LLP, 55 Baker Street, London W1U 7EU and will be conducted under the provisions of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 and the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014.
