Performance Management

This section is about how the authority manages its performance so that it is able to deliver its aims and objectives.

Performance Management

The Council has a series of integrated plans and processes in order to monitor its progress and ensure that it is achieving its Key Aims and Executive Priorities.  A simple pyramid diagram of our performance management framework is available as a word document under Media.

Corporate Plan

Our Corporate Plan, was first published in May 2006. The Corporate Plan covers 10 years, from 2006 to 2016.  It has been refreshed on a regular basis.  A full review is taking place now, from autumn 2011 into spring 2012.  Progress on the existing Plan can be monitored through our Annual Report and Performance Plan (see below).

  • Residents Surveys 2008
This page has the main results of several large residents surveys that were undertaken during 2008/09.
  • Rother Citizens Panel
The Council runs a 'citizens panel'. It is a group of local people who are willing to take part in surveys, consultations and discussion groups about Council services and local matters.
  • Comprehensive Performance Assessment
Rother District Council underwent its first and only Corporate Performance Assessment in 2003/4. The result was a score of 'Fair'. In 2009 the Government replaced Comprehensive Performance Assessment with Comprehensive Area Assessment.
  • Residents Satisfaction Survey 2006
Once every three years from 2000 to 2006 all local authorities had to carry out a market research survey on what residents think about living in their area. The results of the 2006 survey are reported here. This survey was replaced in 2008 with the Place Survey, to be run every two years.
  • Residents' Satisfaction Survey 2003
In 2003 a survey was undertaken of 1400 local residents on their satisfaction with living in the Rother District. Residents were particularly surveyed about their satisfaction with Rother District Council services.
  • Annual Report and Performance Plan
The Council publishes an Annual Report and Performance Plan by 30 June each year. The most recent publication is the Annual Report and Performance Plan for 2011/12.
