The Council is embarking on a programme to transform its services and meet the demands and challenges that we face both now and in the future. The management and development of the property portfolio is a key part of this programme, as well as being an important driver for economic development activity in the District. This includes identifying development opportunities and managing the delivery of these to maximise economic and social returns.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our highly focussed Economic Development and Estates team. Reporting to the Economic Development Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of mixed-use property development projects from inception to completion. This will include preparing the business case with financial analysis and appraisals, leading on site acquisitions and overseeing the construction stages of developments; ensuring that project milestones and budgets are met.

The ideal candidate will be RICS or CIOB qualified, with significant experience in the fields of property development or construction. You will be a key influencer with the ability to communicate effectively with Councillors, senior colleagues, the public and other stakeholders.

You will have a good working knowledge of the development process, with excellent project management and budget management skills. In addition you will possess an excellent eye for detail with strong communication and IT skills. A flexible way to working, forward thinking attitude and determination are key qualities we are seeking.
