The Council's objectives with respect to contaminated land are to:

  1. Identify and remove unacceptable risks to human health and the environment.
  2. Return contaminated land to a beneficial use.
  3. Ensure that the cost burden faced by individuals, companies and society as a whole are proportionate, manageable and economically sustainable.
