Lunch clubs

We are very pleased to support voluntary lunch clubs and the valuable service, contact and social activities they provide for older people.

However, like all catering for large numbers of people precautions must be taken to ensure food is stored, prepared, cooked and served hygienically and safely.

In 2010 Wealden District Council were involved in a joint project with Action in Rural Sussex to produce training documentation on managing food safety in voluntary lunch clubs. Now that Environmental Health is being run as a shared service with Wealden, we are pleased to be able to share this documentation with lunch clubs in the Rother area.

Although you will find lots of information on food safety on our other pages, the booklets below provide detailed guidance on the most important aspects of hygiene, food safety and nutrition specifically for lunch clubs.
