Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan

The Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan was made on 23 April 2018.

The Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan now forms part of the Development Plan for Rother District and will be used when determining planning applications within the designated Neighbourhood Area of Sedlescombe Parish.

Adoption of the Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan

The Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan was made by Rother District Council at Full Council on 23 April 2018.

March 2018

Referendum on the Adoption of the Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan

On 15 March 2018 residents of Sedlescombe voted 476 to 76 in favour of adopting the modified Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan.

December 2017

Decision to go to Referendum

On 18 December 2017 Rother District Council decided to take the Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan to Referendum. The relevant Minute (CB17/55) constitutes the 'Decision Statement' to proceed to Referendum.

November 2017

Examination Report

The Examiner produced his Report in which he recommended modifications that would enable the plan to proceed to Referendum.

June 2017

Public Hearing on the Examination of the Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan

The Examiner held a public hearing on Monday 19 June 2017 at Bexhill Town Hall. The hearing was open to the public, with invited representatives permitted to take part in discussions.

March 2017

Examination of the revised Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan

Mr Edward Cousins was appointed to undertake an independent Examination of the revised Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan and was sent the Plan, along with the supporting documents and representations.

November 2016

Submission Consultation (Regulation 16)

Rother District Council carried out the Regulation 16 submission consultation on the revised Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan between 28 November 2016 and 23 January 2017.

September 2016

Submission of the revised Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan (Regulation 15)

Sedlescombe Parish Council submitted the revised Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan to Rother District Council for consultation.

July 2016

Pre-Submission Consultation (Regulation 14)

Sedlescombe Parish Council carried out the Regulation 14 pre-submission consultation on the revised draft Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan between 15 July and 12 September 2016.

March 2016

SEA Screening Opinion

On 24 March 2016, Rother District Council provided a formal SEA Screening Opinion for the Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan.

November 2015

Withdrawal of the Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan

Sedlescombe Parish Council formally withdrew the Neighbourhood Plan.

Report to Cabinet

On 2 November 2015, a report was presented to Cabinet putting forward two recommendations for consideration, as follows:

Recommendation: It be RESOLVED: That Sedlescombe Parish Council be asked if it wishes to withdraw the Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan and undertake further consultation under Regulation 14 of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.

Recommendation to COUNCIL: That: If Sedlescombe Parish Council has not withdrawn the Neighbourhood Plan prior to Full Council, then the Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan incorporating the Examiner's modifications, as set out at Appendix 2, proceed to local referendum.

Sedlescombe Parish Council indicated that it did not support some of the Examiner's principal modifications.

Rother District Council carried out the Regulation 16 submission consultation on the Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan between 19 August and 7 October 2014.

July 2014

Submission of the draft Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan (Regulation 15)

Sedlescombe Parish Council submitted the Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan to Rother District Council for consultation.

March 2014

Pre-Submission Consultation (Regulation 14)

Sedlescombe Parish Council carried out the Regulation 14 pre-submission consultation on the draft Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan between 20 March and 7 May 2014.

November 2013

SEA Screening Opinion

On 28 November 2013, Rother District Council provided a formal SEA Screening Opinion for the Sedlescombe Neighbourhood Plan.

July 2013

Designation of Sedlescombe Parish as a Neighbourhood Plan Area

Rother District Council confirmed that, in accordance with Regulation 7 of the Neighbourhood Plan (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), the marked area shown on the submitted map (being that of the Parish boundary) was formally designated as the Sedlescombe Parish Neighbourhood Plan Area.

February 2013

Application for the designation of a Neighbourhood Plan Area

In accordance with Part 2, Regulation 5 (1) of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Sedlescombe Parish Council (as the relevant body) submitted to Rother District Council an application for the designation of a Neighbourhood Area.

This application included the following:

  • A map which identifies the area to which the application relates
     
  • A statement explaining why the area is considered appropriate to be designated as a Neighbourhood Area
     
  •  A statement setting out why Sedlescombe Parish Town Council is a relevant body for the purposes of section 61G of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990
